SFSFF is pleased to announce the latest preservation project—the full-scale restoration of Erich von Stroheim’s brilliant Foolish Wives. The restoration will have its world premiere on opening night, Wednesday, April 29, with maestro Timothy Brock conducting members of the Oakland Symphony performing his SFSFF-commissioned score. The project was completed in collaboration with New York’s The Museum of Modern Art and the festival is thrilled to present the 2020 SFSFF Award for commitment to the preservation and exhibition of silent cinema to MoMA. Film Curator Dave Kehr will accept the award at the screening.
