Overall Features
Formats
M.I.R works with the most common single image fileformats (DPX, Cineon, TIFF, TGA, ...) and QuickTime. Any directory containing single images or a specific image/movie file can be opened by M.I.R. The software supports various color densities up to 16bit per color. M.I.R. has been approved for all resolutions starting from SD up to 8k.
Auto Alignment
Efficient retouching requires automatic alignment of the background image. The Auto Alignment function of M.I.R. aligns the background image at incredible speed - even in 4k resolution!
MicroLoop
Retouching a specific image in a movie requires quality verification. MicroLoop is an efficient tool that re-plays the local environment in real-time and automatically stops at the retouched image position.
Monocle (loupe)
The innovative monocle visualises source and destination, thus the operator is equipped with an efficient environment. Retouching becomes so efficient, as the operator previews in highest detail what he is doing.
Retouch tool
Proper retouching respects the original nature of the movie and thus takes content for pasting from the same movie, but different location (spatial and temporal). Dust busting and wire removal becomes so easy, as M.I.R. provides the perfect functions for it.
ResultCompressor
High resolution images (2K / 4K) have about 12-50 MB each frame. So long image sequences consume a lot of storage and are difficult to move. Especially for outsourcing paint jobs to remote locations you need to move large amount of data to the outsourcing facilities and back. But not all frames are modified or only small regions of the frame are modified. In order to avoid sending back the full amount of data, only the changes should be sent back and should be applied to the original data back in the local facility.
ResultCompressor is computing the differences of two image sequences and compresses those by means of lossless compression. This tool has been integrated into M.I.R. and supports the outsourcing of paint jobs.
Operating systems
Windows XP (32 and 64bit), Mac OS X 10.4.1 or later (Universal Binary).
